Flintridge Preparatory School Welcomes New Head of School

Flintridge Preparatory School (FPS) welcomes its new Head of School, Jim Pickett. Jim, along with his wife, Susie, and their daughter, Anna, has been settling into life in La Cañada and diving right into work.

With a background in independent school education, Jim brings a dedication to building relationships and connections within communities and a passion for lifelong, interdisciplinary learning. Before Prep, Jim spent eight years at Castilleja School in Palo Alto as Head of Upper School, where he oversaw all aspects of Upper School operations and guided major initiatives.

Last fall, in his letter to the community after the Board announced him as the next Head of School, Jim noted that “the dual meanings of the motto ‘Prep for Life’ so perfectly encapsulate our work: both to nurture ethical foundations, emotional maturity, and intellectual curiosity among our students to last a lifetime, and to create a community to which we are all forever linked. It is a tremendous honor to lead this critical work.”

Join FPS in welcoming Jim.
