Flintridge Prep’s STEAM & Service Fair Inspires with Innovation, Science, and Community Impact

It was full STEAM ahead last week for Flintridge Preparatory School as the STEAM & Service Fair once again dazzled the community. ‘Throughout the day, joy was present everywhere you looked,’ said STEAM Coordinator Dr. Shane Frewen. ‘Science fair interviewees enthusiastically discussed their work with judges. Families excitedly explored the variety of classroom projects. CIP students passionately shared the story of their service with the community. Workshop volunteers wowed visitors with virtual reality and stunningly illuminated art. Thank you to everyone who participated!

During the fair, eighth graders showcase highly personal CIPs addressing the housing crisis, fire relief, international aid, heath, and beyond. Student scientists presented their work in fields as diverse as marine biology, cancer research, and microplastic pollution. Meanwhile, hands-on workshops and displays focused on VR, art, anatomy, robotics, music, and more to ensure everyone who attended was fully engaged.

Science Fair participants will next compete in the Los Angeles County Science & Engineering Fair, while our CIP awardees will receive checks to donate to the organizations of their choice.
