Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy Honors the Feast of St. Dominic

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy celebrates the feast of St. Dominic, observed on August 8, honoring the founder of the Dominican Order to which the school belongs. In honoring his life and legacy, the community reflected on the values of prayer, study, community, and preaching through acts of service – principles that continue to guide the school’s mission.

This summer, school leaders – Principal Rebecca Bostic, Assistant Principal of Student Life and Culture Boyoung Kim, Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction Tina Zapata, and Religious Studies Teacher Chad Ribordy—traveled to Ohio Dominican University to participate in the Dominican Educator Learning Community Summer Academy. The experience deepened the school’s Dominican roots, fostered connections with fellow Dominican educators, and brought inspiration from the broader Dominican community.
As a school sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose, this feast day holds special meaning. The community remains committed to living out St. Dominic’s charism as the new school year approaches. St. Dominic, pray for us!
