Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy’s Inquiry-based Learning

In Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy’s (FSHS)s senior research seminars, students have taken the research skills they developed over the last few years to dive deep into a research project of their choosing. This work, which prioritizes inquiry-based learning, helps students develop tools for questioning, scrutinizing, accepting, and rejecting information of all kinds. FSHA believe that students who have the ability to seek truth through study and examination of evidence become deeper thinkers and more fruitful contributors to the society. This was on display during last week’s research fair where seniors discussed and presented their research process and findings to the student body, faculty and staff. It is incredible to see students passionately exploring the challenges facing our world today.

All of this is made possible with the leadership of Ms. Murphy, who developed and manages the program, and the senior research seminar faculty who support students through every step of the research process.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy (FSHA) is a Catholic, Dominican, independent college preparatory, day and boarding school, educating women for a life of faith, integrity and truth. These young women are enriched by an academically rigorous and co-curricular program.
