From Ashes to Hope: Aveson Strong, One Year Later
“One year ago today, the Eaton Fire took both our Aveson campuses from us. The loss still lives in our history, in our memories, and in our hearts. And yet, so does everything that carried us forward: resilience, community, and healing.
We still have a long way to go. But today, our classrooms are filled with joy and spirit. Our community is wrapped in support and love. Our future is bright with new beginnings we continue to build together.
We honor this day by remembering what we lost and celebrating what grew in its place. We do so through the beautiful words of our 11th-grade student, Irie Ruiz. Her poem, “Still Honor Worthy”, reminds us that change can challenge us deeply, but that we can still forge ahead with courage and hope.
We are endlessly grateful to the people and organizations who showed up for us, helped lift us back onto our feet, donated to us, and walked alongside us as we continued our journey. We will never, ever forget you. The compassion offered from all over the world during our time of need will always be part of who we are. Please know this: you are part of the Aveson family, too.
We are Aveson Strong!”
