From Leftovers to Learning: Monterey Hills Garden Grows with SPEF Support

Monterey Hills Elementary School reached out to share their 4th/5th grade gardening project, made possible by South Pasadena Educational Foundation’s teacher grants! Ms. Kristy King (5th Grade Teacher):

“Just wanted to share some photos to show my appreciation for your support with our composting and gardening project. With your help we bought a Lomi composter and two garden beds. The kids were able to figure out how to turn their leftovers from lunch into valuable soil for our garden. We planted herbs and are taking turns watering. So far the kids have really enjoyed getting outside and learning this valuable skill. Thank you so much!”

South Pasadena Educational Foundation (SPEF)’s Grant Committee is made possible by your donations during its Fall Fund Drive and SPEF’s PartiGras!

This year’s Parti Gras will focus on raising more money to grant More Teacher Grants next year.
