HMS 7th Grader and Allegra Wright’s Destination Imagination Team Places 6th out of 23 in DI 2023 Global Finals

San Marino Unified School District (SMUSD) congratulates HMS’ 7th grader Allegra Wright’s Destination Imagination team “DI-ving In” for finishing 6th out of 23 at the DI 2023 Global Finals in Kansas City, MO! This team won 1st place in California and competed against teams from Brazil, Cyprus, China, Ukraine, Turkey, Mexico, Australia, Canada and more. The challenge prompts students to complete tasks using engineering, research, strategic planning and included a scenario involving environmental disaster and time travel. The puzzle solver was built by the team using 3D printing, Arduinos, servos, stepper motors, sounds boards and LEDs and had to cost under $200 per the rules. Way to go Allegra and team (teammates from S.Pas and Pasadena)!
