Hope Is a Verb: Aveson Schools Closes the Year with a Message of Resilience and Gratitude

As the school year came to a close, Aveson Schools marked the moment with a powerful expression of hope and gratitude. Students from the Independent Study Program collaborated with staff members Mr. Darryl and Ms. Arlynn to produce a heartfelt stop-motion video – a labor of love crafted frame by frame with creativity, patience, and the natural beauty surrounding them.

The video, set to the uplifting tune of Harry Belafonte’s “Turn the World Around,” features a moving performance by both students and Ms. Arlynn, capturing the spirit of perseverance and unity that defines the Aveson community.

This project is more than an end-of-year message… it’s a thank you to everyone who supported the school during difficult times, particularly throughout the challenges posed by the Eaton Fire. From generous donations and active engagement to encouraging words, the Aveson community has felt deeply supported by friends both near and far.

Though the path to healing continues, the school remains steadfast in its journey forward, bolstered by the compassion and connection of those who stood by them. Aveson Schools looks ahead with optimism, inspired daily by the kindness and resilience of their students, staff, and wider community.

Because for them… “Hope isn’t just a feeling. Hope is a verb.”
