John Muir Girls’ Softball Team Cruises Past Poly Parrots, 12–3

The varsity girls softball team from John Muir High School secured a decisive 12–3 victory over Poly Parrots High School (Sun Valley, CA) on Saturday, continuing a trend of dominant performances this season. The Mustangs, who also won the teams’ previous matchup, have now recorded eight victories by nine runs or more, showcasing both offensive strength and consistency.

Sidney Sims led the way with an all-around effort, striking out nine batters over 4.2 innings while allowing just one earned run on three hits. She also contributed at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and a triple. Additional offensive support came from Jaslene Hernandez, who tallied two runs and two RBIs, and Gigi Butler, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI, helping Muir post a strong .515 on-base percentage.

With the win, Muir improves to 10–4 and has now won three of its last four games, averaging more than 12 runs during that stretch. The Mustangs will next face Burroughs High School at home, while Poly (5–2) looks ahead to its April 8 matchup against San Fernando High School.
