John Muir High School Early College Magnet Students Celebrate PCC Summer Bridge Program

Students enrolled in John Muir High School Early College Magnet recently celebrated their participation in the Pasadena City College (PCC) Early College Summer Bridge Program, an initiative designed to prepare students for the academic expectations of college while building confidence for the year ahead. Special recognition was given to Ms. Diaz and Mr. Munoz for their leadership in creating these valuable opportunities for students.

The PUSD Early College Magnet, housed at John Muir High School, provides students in grades 9–12 with an accelerated pathway to higher education. Through the district’s partnership with Pasadena City College, students can earn up to two years of free transferable college credit while completing their high school diploma. The program combines rigorous concurrent and dual enrollment coursework with comprehensive college and career counseling, helping students graduate with a significant head start toward a college degree.

With a PCC satellite campus located at John Muir High School, students have access to a wide range of college-level courses that satisfy both high school graduation requirements and college credit, reducing the time and cost of earning a postsecondary degree.
