La Salle Celebrates Ash Wednesday

On this day, La Salle College Preparatory teachers, staff, and students marks the beginning of lent through the celebration of Ash Wednesday. As a school community, they gathered together in prayer and reflection. Ash Wednesday, is the first day of Lent, is literally marked on the forehead of observant Christians. At church services across the world, the ashes of burned palm branches mixed with holy water or oil are applied in the shape of a cross on the heads of worshippers. The marking of the cross is accompanied by the words… “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return” (Genesis 3:19)”.
