La Salle Sophomores Explore Real-World Finances at Reality Fair

Sophomores at La Salle College Preparatory received a firsthand look at the responsibilities of adult life during this year’s Reality Fair, organized by the school’s Counseling Department. During the interactive event, students selected a career and were given a corresponding salary profile before visiting a series of booths representing common living expenses, including housing, transportation, groceries, entertainment, retirement, and more. As they moved through the fair, students made real-world financial decisions, balancing their income with everyday costs.

From choosing between a dream car and a more practical vehicle to managing monthly necessities, the experience challenged students to think carefully about budgeting and lifestyle choices. The Reality Fair provided a fun yet eye-opening opportunity for sophomores to better understand the connection between career paths, income levels, and the financial decisions that shape everyday life.
