La Salle’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Task Force

Since their initial meeting in May, La Salle College Preparatory’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Task Force has met twice on June 5 and June 12 to discuss the strategic planning process and the framework being used by Dr. Joel Pérez. Rooted in the Catholic Lasallian mission, this effort is focused on having meaningful and impactful discussions on how they can become leaders in the community… “as we nurture, inspire, challenge, and motivate our students, faculty, and staff.”

The Task Force framework utilizes four unique dimensions addressed at each session. The dimensions include: organizational vitality and viability, education and scholarship, access and success, and climate and intergroup relations. Dr. Perez is compiling the information from the meeting and will be sharing it with the group at the June 30 meeting. Future meetings will cover each of the dimensions and form a structure around the strategic plan. A draft of the plan will be reviewed by Dr. Perry and his administrative leadership team after Labor Day.

La Salle thanks the members of the Task Force for their important work in advancing this forum and dialogue. Future meeting dates are as follows: June 30, July 17, August 10, August 28, and September 14.
