LatinX Celebration Day Brings Music, Learning, and Tradition to Life at Waverly

A Vibrant Celebration of Latinx Heritage, Art, and Community at Waverly School!

The Waverly School’s LatinX Celebration Day was filled with learning, music, movement, and community!

Hosted by Waverly’s LatinX Affinity Group, students led engaging seminars and activities that explored the richness and diversity of Latinx culture. Sessions included discussions on the impact of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance, the meaning and artistry behind sugar skulls, fashion in the Chicano/a community, and the influence of Latin American athletes and rock musicians throughout history. Students also learned Latin dances such as Cumbia and Cha-cha-cha and enjoyed a spirited game of Lotería together.

Parent volunteers also helped make the day extra special by providing delicious snacks originating from countries throughout Latin America for students to enjoy.

Thank you to our student leaders, parent volunteers, and faculty advisors for creating such a meaningful and joyful day of learning and cultural celebration for our community.
