Learning Technology Center at Alverno Heights Academy

Alverno Heights Academy’s Learning Technology Center (LTC) opened at the end of the 2016-2017 school year. The remodeled building features 2 meeting rooms that students can use to hold small meetings and study. The walls to those rooms can be moved to create a larger space for events, presentations, and speakers. The LTC is also home to the KATV Room/Computer Lab which includes brand new iMac Pro computers for student use.

The aim of the Alverno Heights Academy Learning Technology Center is to provide a resource center for both students and faculty, using both print and electronic media. The goal of the LTC is mainly to fulfill educational and informational needs, but it is also a welcoming atmosphere for pursuing recreational needs, to read and discover new technologies, new books, and new worlds.

The LTC is home to the school Library, AHA’s Outreach Concerns Office, and the Director of College Counseling’s office. The Librarian serves all members of the school community. All efforts are made to ensure that materials, both print and electronic, are acquired in a timely manner and will serve the needs of the community.

All information, from the book catalog to the online websites to information about the Book Club, can be found at the library’s department website.

About Alverno Heights Academy

Alverno Heights Academy is an all-girls, independent, progressive Catholic, college preparatory school dedicated to its mission of empowering each young woman to be exactly the person she wants to be. Located on the property of the former Barlow Estate in Sierra Madre, California, Alverno Heights Academy was founded in 1960 by the Sisters of St. Francis who sought to create an environment in the San Gabriel Valley where young women could become informed and knowledgeable persons. Later renamed Alverno High School and sponsored by the Immaculate Heart Community, Alverno’s program—academic, spiritual, aesthetic, social, and physical—has been shaped by the staff, trustees, and students. As Alverno Heights Academy once again, the school remains committed to its mission by encouraging each of their young women to be who they imagine.
