Learning Works Embraces the Future with AI

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has quickly become one of the most influential technologies shaping education, communication, and the modern workforce. Recognizing that access to technological knowledge is essential for student success, Learning Works Charter School has taken proactive steps to ensure its students and staff remain informed, prepared, and technologically relevant in an increasingly AI-driven world. To support this goal, the school partnered with Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) to provide a series of professional development sessions for teachers and staff throughout the school year. These sessions explored practical tools and strategies for maximizing AI effectiveness while also addressing important discussions surrounding ethics, responsible use, and the environmental impact of emerging technologies.
In addition to staff training, Learning Works is collaborating with LACOE this summer to develop AI-focused modules for the school’s Computer Literacy curriculum. These new learning opportunities are designed to help students build confidence and familiarity with AI tools that are increasingly becoming part of higher education and the workplace. By integrating AI education into the curriculum, the school hopes to prepare students not only to use technology effectively, but also to think critically about its impact on society. This continued investment in innovation reflects Learning Works’ commitment to equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving digital future.
