Learning Works: “In Weaving Love”

In 2017, local artist Hannah Maximova of Zoe Mosaics created a stunning mural covering the entire wall of Learning Work’s Pasadena campus’s warehouse building. The artwork depicts a glittering tree that represents the encouragingly kind and supportive environment of the school.

This year, Homeboy Industries commissioned Hannah to adorn the storefront of the Learning Works @ Homeboy campus in Boyle Heights, and the result is similarly stunning! With help from staff and students, Hannah created a glass mosaic that weaves in some of Father Greg Boyle’s more famous quotes. The new artwork will be officially unveiled later this year as a celebration of other work completed as part of a technology grant, so stay tuned!
