Life Skills at Southwestern Academy

Southwestern Academy’s Ms. Russo “Life Skills” class had some special guests recently. SWA thanks the San Marino Police Department officers for stopping by and giving an insightful presentation on underage drinking. The presentation was followed by a lively open discussion. Southwestern Academy is grateful to the police department for keeping our communities safe and for building great relationships with our students.

Life Skills curriculum at Southwestern Academy: Besides the academic nature of the school programs, students are instructed in practical and functional living skills in order to prepare them for future adult environments in the home, community and work place. These programs include a multitude of areas such as pre-vocational skills, daily living skills, community-based instruction, self-care, functional reading and math.
