Maranatha Alumni Artists Pursuing their Dreams

Maranatha’s Visual Arts Department has a rich history of developing the talents of young artists and equipping them to pursue their dreams of using those skills in their profession. Two MHS alumni recently shared with us their unique accomplishments.

Daniel “DJ” Horine, Class of 1997, was interviewed on the MLB Network program “Hot Stove” about the baseball comic covers he has been designing. Daniel has kept in contact with Maranatha art teacher, Diane Barnhart, and told her about his appearance on the show. You can watch the video Here. In the segment, Daniel discusses how he has combined his passion for baseball with his illustrator background in order to develop unique artwork that caught the eyes of show hosts, Harold Reynolds and Matt Vasgersian.

Ben Tong ‘13 also shared with us his recent opportunity to work on the animation of Kelly Clarkson’s newest Christmas video, “Under the Mistletoe”. Ben designed the snowy house scenes. You can view the music video Here.

MHS is proud to see its alumni utilizing their God-given talent.
