Maranatha Athletics Scores in HD

Maranatha’s Athletics Program has made some upgrades to the school’s sports program this past year during the Covid downtime.

The benefits of these recent upgrades can be seen all around campus. Recently completed is our new underground locker room facility, located inside the gymnasium. Coaches, students, and athletes alike can now utilize new locker rooms, showers, and a brand-new coaches’ office, featuring two 65-inch 4K televisions, an immersive touch-screen projector, and 12 office cubicles for coaches to use. Despite the length of time it took to complete the project, the new office space serves as a great resource for coaches. Maranatha Athletic Director Sammy Skinner stated, “Having a space like that for our coaches is huge. It goes to show how much we support them for what they do and allows them to have a space to really develop their teams and programs.”

Another box checked off on the Athletics Department’s project list was the installation of the new “HUDL” camera, specified and calibrated specifically for The Keith Family Field. With assistance from Maranatha’s Tech Department, Athletics recently installed a motion-sensor camera that can track player and ball movement, as well as record game play in High Definition. “A tool like this is a great resource for our Soccer and Football programs because it allows our coaches to re-watch film, breakdown plays, and see their own tendencies and strengths immediately after a game,” said Head Football Coach Rand Holdren.

Another amazing benefit is that it also has the capability to live stream without an actual camera operator. Because of its motion tracking capabilities, families and fans who may not be able to attend home games will now have the option of watching the game live, but remotely – just another way to show support for their favorite player or coach. As time progresses, we are seeing the importance of merging technology within athletics and how resources like this have been an advantage for our teams at Maranatha. Not only does it add an appealing reason for prospective students to choose Maranatha, but it also strengthens our supporter base, enabling us to positively serve a much larger community!

The Maranatha Athletic Department invites everyone to come catch a home game to support our student-athletes and coaches alike this season. We would love to have you stop by a game to see all the great features that have been added within our department, as we continue to strive and build Champions of Christ.
