Maranatha High School: 50th Gives Glory to God

The Maranatha High School (MHS) community gathered for its 50th Anniversary Celebration this weekend, and what a joy it was! The close knit community Maranatha has enjoyed over the years was touched upon again and again, as was the amazing provision of God over the years.

The weekend started on Thursday with over 50 golfers playing at MHS annual Golf Tournament. On Thursday evening, current and former board and heads of school met at the Tournament of Roses House for a precious time of sharing memories and hearing from our co-founder Betty Oliver, former principal Bill McKinley (1974-1983), and former Board member Warren Thomas. Friday Night Lights followed filled with top-notch MHS football as well as great food and Halftime performances. The “First 50 Archive” exhibit opened and was a huge hit for all who visited it.

Finally, on Saturday night, almost 700 members of the MHS community gathered to hear inspiring stories from its heritage and history, and to pray for Maranatha’s next 50 years!
