Maranatha High School: Ms. Chan’s Advisory Group Helps Restore a Local School

During the Thanksgiving break, a group of Maranatha students rolled up their sleeves and worked to clean and freshen up a local school.

Ms. Monica Chan’s advisory group visited the Pasadena Rosebud Academy in Altadena, a charter school serving students from kindergarten through 8th grade. Upon arriving at the school, Ms. Chan’s advisory group girls were paired with junior high boys and girls who attend Rosebud Academy. The school was in need of a refresher and overall cleanup, so the advisory group divided into two groups and worked alongside their middle school partners on a variety of jobs including repainting the auditorium, cleaning classrooms, taking out trash, cleaning windows and window sills, and more.

Throughout this process, each student worked extremely hard and at the end of their two days of service, Mrs. Rhonda Shorter, the school’s program coordinator, complimented the girls for the amazing job. The school now enjoys a freshly painted auditorium, clean classrooms, and windows that look brand new.
