Congratulations to Maranatha High School senior Allyson Wei ’19 for winning 3rd Place at Congresswoman Judy Chu’s “Artistic Discovery” ceremony.

On Sunday, May 5, senior Allyson Wei won 3rd Place at Congresswoman Judy Chu’s 10th Annual “Artistic Discovery” ceremony held at the Huntington Garden and Library. This ceremony is a prestigious, nationwide competition, held by each member of Congress for students in their district. Maranatha’s Visual Arts faculty Diane Barnhart said, “This award is a big deal.

Judy Chu’s competition was entered by more than 200 students from the 27th Congressional District this year and Ally was one of the winners for her artwork entitled ‘Painted Disguise.’ Not only was she given a monetary award for her efforts, but her artwork will hang in Ms. Chu’s Washington D.C. office for one year.”
