Maranatha High School senior Marian Seo has won a Silver Key for her artwork “Sirens” in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative high school students. The Silver Key is awarded to individuals who submitted to local programs stand-out works that demonstrate exceptional ability.
This isn’t Marian’s first time being recognized by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. She was also recognized last year, earning an Honorable Mention for her work on “Dreamy, Creamy Coffee.” Maranatha’s Visual Arts Department faculty member Diane Barnhart commented, “Marian is an excellent art student – very creative and skilled. She is currently completing her second AP portfolio (she received a 5 last year) and will be starting Azusa Pacific University (APU) in the fall to study art.”
