Maranatha Students Provide Help to the Homeless

A group of Maranatha High School students recently took the initiative to collect essential items and distribute them to Pasadena’s homeless population.

During their Thanksgiving break, the school’s Helpers of Humanity Club, along with CSF students, decided to make 40 bags and hand them out to those in need. The students collected food, blankets, sanitizers, clothes, and other items, then assembled bags and set off to hand them out to local homeless residents.

According to one of the organizers, Hope Hayashida ‘21, “Thanks to everyone’s help, we were able to assemble more than 40 bags! Our group planned to start in Old Town and the nearby parks, and [in just those places] we were able to distribute almost all of the bags.” The remaining items were donated to a local shelter.

Maranatha is proud to see students taking initiative to help others in need.
