Senior Eunice Velazquez of Thurgood Marshall Secondary School has earned national recognition after being named MaxPreps National High School Spring Player of the Week for the West Region. The honor follows an extraordinary three-game stretch in which she delivered a flawless 10-for-10 performance at the plate, driving in 17 runs and scoring 10 times—an achievement that highlights her precision, power, and consistency.

Velázquez’s standout week reflects a season defined by strong, reliable play. She has consistently contributed to her team’s offensive success, frequently reaching base and generating scoring opportunities. Her leadership and performance have helped propel the Eagles to a series of commanding wins, reinforcing her role as a key player in the team’s momentum this season.

This recognition places Velázquez among the top high school athletes in the region and brings added attention to Thurgood Marshall’s growing softball program within the Pasadena Unified School District. As her senior season continues, her accomplishments serve as both a personal milestone and an example of dedication and excellence for her teammates and the broader school community.
