Marshall’s Mia Thorsen Leads Peaceful Student Protest and March in Honor of George Floyd



Marshall Fundamental School (MFS) thanks Mia Thorsen, Marshall Fundamental Class of 2020 Graduate and organizer of a Peaceful Student Protest and march through Pasadena in honor of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter Movement. Mia’s instruction to her friends and classmates was that the March would be peaceful. Mia was joined by her Marshall Fundamental classmates along with friends from public and private schools united with signs and good energy. Some parents joined the teenage walkers, as well as, PUSD Principals John Muir High School Early College Magnet, Principal Lawton Gray; Marshall Fundamental Principal, Dr. Mark Anderson; Pasadena High School Bulldogs Principal, Robert Hernandez; and Rose City High School Principal, Brian Stanley. PUSD Superintendent Dr. Brian McDonald and Chief Dr. Elizabeth Blanco along with other administrators and staff members in attendance.
