Marshall’s Triumphant Musical Journey to New York



Thurgood Marshall Secondary School’s Visual and Performing Arts students traveled to New York City for the WorldStrides Music Heritage Festival, where they showcased their talents and earned top honors. Students also participated in an enriching Broadway workshop and performed at the historic Riverside Church, gaining invaluable performance experience in one of the nation’s most vibrant cultural hubs.

Chamber Choir and Sotto Voce both earned Gold ratings, with Sotto Voce placing 1st and Chamber Choir placing 3rd. The Chamber Orchestra also received a Gold rating, while the Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble earned Silver. Congratulations to our students and staff for representing PUSD with excellence!

The WorldStrides Music Heritage Festival is a nationally recognized event that brings together student musicians from across the country to perform, learn, and be evaluated by professional adjudicators. Held annually in major cities such as New York, the festival provides ensembles with opportunities to refine their craft through performances, clinics, and cultural experiences. This year’s New York festival took place at premier venues throughout the city, offering students the chance to perform on distinguished stages while immersing themselves in the rich musical history and energy of the area.
