Maxwell B. of Octavia E. Butler Magnet Wins Imagination Catalyst Award for Inspiring Art



Maxwell B., a talented 7th grader from Octavia E. Butler Magnet School was recently recognized with the prestigious Imagination Catalyst Award as part of the Creative Visions Foundation’s national youth mental health campaign, #CreateConnectCare. This award celebrates young creatives who use their art to inspire and promote mental wellness.

Maxwell’s submission, a compelling visual art piece paired with a thoughtful written reflection, was chosen from more than 750 entries. A panel of judges, comprised of entertainment industry professionals, mental health experts, and youth representatives from across the country, selected his work for its creativity, emotional depth, and relevance to the campaign’s mission.

As an award recipient, Maxwell will receive national recognition for his artistic achievements, which will be highlighted on the Creative Visions Foundation’s website and social media platforms. Additionally, his work will be showcased at upcoming community events, further amplifying his message of mental health awareness. Along with this honor, Maxwell also received a gift certificate in appreciation of his contribution.
