Mayfield Senior School Students Attend Service 4 LIFE Event with Archbishop
According to the LIFE SoCal website, during Respect Life Week, “Catholic middle and high school students will be immersed in the understanding of the dignity of every human person and will be challenged to proclaim the gospel of life in our communities.”
The goal of the event was to look at critical social issues of our time, including poverty, human rights and the right to life and dignity. Catholic students from across the Archdiocese joined the Archbishop Jose Gomez and local celebrities in a rally to educate and enlighten youth about the dignity of life and importance of Christian service.
Many organizations that feed the hungry, protect the unborn, care for newborns and children and support the elderly had informational booths to share the mission of their group and opportunities to be of service. In the coming week, student attendees will share their experience with the entire Mayfield Senior School community, providing insight into the myriad of topics and ideas discussed at the event.
Inspiring and engaging speakers included Brittany Sharaun, former America’s Next Top Model contestant and founder of Burgers and Bibles, Walter Hoye II, the founder of Issues 4 Life and the Califiornia Civil Rights Foundation and 2011 Miss Delaware Maria Cahill.
