Pasadena Christian School Sixth Graders Explore Science Through Solar Ovens

Students in the sixth-grade science classes at Pasadena Christian School recently combined creativity, engineering, and scientific discovery by designing and building their own solar ovens. Using the power of the sun, the students successfully baked delicious s’mores while learning firsthand about solar energy, heat transfer, and renewable resources. The hands-on activity gave students an exciting opportunity to apply classroom concepts in a fun and memorable way.

Laughter and teamwork filled the classroom as students tested their oven designs and eagerly waited for their sweet treats to melt to perfection. Activities like these help bring science to life and encourage curiosity, problem-solving, and collaboration among students. For many of the sixth graders, enjoying warm s’mores before lunch made the lesson even more rewarding and unforgettable.
