Pasadena High School Team Comes Out on Top of the Math Field Day!



Congratulations to the Pasadena High School’s Math Field Day teams. Team A won the Gold (1st place) and Team B wins the Bronze (3rd place) at the recent 25th annual Math Field Day, a district-wide competition for students in grades 4-9. Pasadena High School is so proud!!

Pasadena High School (PHS) fielded two teams of 9th grade students in this year’s competition which also included teams from Blair High School, John Muir High School and Marshall Fundamental.

Team A included Colette Christenesen, Chellam Nayar, Jacob Newman and Sumner Smith. Team A won 1st place as Overall Team in the 9th grade competition.

Team B included Nikka Batisla-ong, Caroline Champlin, Sophia Kownatzki, Jacob Roberts. Team B also had a great showing and went on to take 3rd place as the Overall Team in the 9th grade competition.

Since January, these students and their math coaches, Mrs. Harriet Hammond and Mr. Osvaldo Mejia, have devoted much of their free time to preparing for this competition.

The school is so proud of all the students involved and equally proud of their fantastic coaches.
