Pasadena High School’s AP Bio Class Bacterial Blast!

Pasadena High School’s (PHS)’ AP Bio had a bacterial blast in Mrs. Jacalone’s class this week! Students inserted a recombinant plasmid into E. coli bacteria. The plasmid contained a red flourscent protein gene from a sea anemone. Students followed a detailed procedure in order to transform their bacteria. Student groups that were successful had a plate of glowing bacteria!
