Pasadena Unified students are leading the way in making improvements to education. The PUSD Think Tank is an amazing collective of students who have gathered virtually for two years to research and present recommendations for a stronger District and community.

Last week, several Think Tank members made formal presentations to PUSD’s Board of Education to explain their activities and goals. They said the PUSD Think Tank is a “student-led initiative whose mission is to create a safe space for students to connect across campuses, raise consciousness about Pasadena’s history, and to provide a platform through which students can create equity within the district and the region.” It includes two cohorts made up of high school students from across the District and they have created three committees, each with a different focus: equity, curriculum, and mental health. We are extremely impressed by their ongoing hard work and their findings will serve to guide our leadership and spark change from the ground level up.
