PEN to Host Elementary School Options Information Session

Pasadena Education Network (PEN) will host a free information session on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) Office, offering families guidance as they consider elementary school options across the district. Parent and education expert Dr. Jennifer Miyake-Trapp will provide an overview of what PUSD offers students, including special programs and magnet schools, while helping parents better understand what school test scores and ratings can—and cannot—tell them when evaluating schools.

The presentation will also explore how families can combine school visits, parent perspectives, and their own educational values to make thoughtful and well-informed decisions. Following the presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to meet and speak with parents whose children currently attend elementary schools throughout PUSD. A parent representative from the Community Advisory Committee for Special Education will also be available to answer questions about accessing special education services within the district.

The PUSD District Office is located at 351 South Hudson Avenue, Room 151, Pasadena.
