Poly Community Gathers for Climate Action at Pasadena Candlelight Vigil

Upper School students, parents, and Polytechnic School community members attended last week’s candlelight vigil at Pasadena City Hall. The event was hosted by PASADENA100, a coalition of local non-profit organizations advocating for Pasadena to use 100% carbon-free energy by 2030. The event celebrated the second anniversary of Resolution 9977, which the Pasadena City Council passed in commitment to transitioning to carbon-free energy by 2030, thanks in part to the lobbying efforts of Poly students. Pasadena Councilmember Jason Lyon P ’23 ’32 and Audrey M. ’27 both spoke to the urgency of the climate crisis.
