Poly Shines at MLK Community Coalition’s “Resilience and Renewal” Event



On Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, more than 20 members of the Polytechnic School community gathered at John Muir High School to take part in the MLK Community Coalition’s “Resilience and Renewal” celebration. The program featured remarks from keynote speaker Senator Sasha Renée Pérez and Representative Judy Chu, with musical support provided by Poly’s Jazz Band.

Polytechnic students were recognized for their outstanding achievements, with Olivia Z. ’28 earning first place in the Upper School Essay category, Megan L. ’27 receiving third place for Upper School Art, Jasmine C. ’31 taking second place for Middle School Art, and Jacob P. ’30 winning first place for Middle School Essay. Jacob also delivered his award-winning speech to a standing ovation.

The Polytechnic School community is proud of its students for honoring the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through their creativity, voice, and civic engagement.
