Poly’s First Graders Learn about the Civil Rights Movement and the Importance of Protests and Marches

Polytechnic School’s Floriane Siegel’s first-grade class has been learning about the Civil Rights Movement and the importance of protests and marches, especially as they relate to social justice and the Black Lives Matter movement. As part of their Reader’s Theater about Martin Luther King Jr., the students learned about the influential leadership of Dr. King and Rosa Parks, practiced speaking with conviction, and performed the powerful song “We Shall Overcome.” View their performance on the above video or go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MvKbiAXa7o&feature=emb_logo
