At the heart of Poly’s Upper School are ambitious students who are committed to intellectual, athletic, and co-curricular pursuits, service to others, and most importantly, building an authentic and supportive community. Nurtured by dedicated faculty and staff, Poly students thrive within a multi-faceted curriculum that promotes academic excellence, self-discovery, global citizenship, and leadership.

Exceptional foundational coursework, including Honors and Advanced Placement courses, allows Upper School students to explore each academic discipline and develop their potential in expected and unexpected ways.

Poly’s Upper School has an academic reputation that stands firmly on the hard work and intellectual ambition of our students and teachers. Our teachers continually strive to create inspiring curriculum promoting the highest levels of engagement and critical thinking. The Upper School program is known for its innovative and enriching elective courses. We combine these intellectual challenges with opportunities in athletics, arts, outdoor education, community engagement, clubs, and extracurriculars — each of them a chance to take risks and discover new ideas. Poly is a place where self-discovery is always happening, a place to deepen and solidify confidence in your abilities.

All of this occurs in the context of a true community. Every day in our classrooms and courtyards, you will see students who are committed to their studies, their sports, their activities, and perhaps most importantly, to each other. Community is the essential element that makes everything else possible here in the Upper School.

At Poly, teachers, advisors, coaches, and deans contribute alongside students to this sense of community. As we challenge students to be their best selves, we are deeply committed to their growth and success. While our graduates are by no means finished products, we send students off ready to make a difference for good in their next communities and in the greater world.

I invite you to explore Poly further through our website and open houses. We are more than just a school—we are a community of artists, athletes, scholars, leaders, changemakers, and friends – and most importantly we are a community of life-long learners.
