Polytechnic School Celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival with Joy and Tradition

Polytechnic School celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival this week! The festival marks when the moon is at its fullest and brightest, symbolizing reunion and gratitude for the autumn harvest. In kindergarten, students made Play-Doh mooncakes and enjoyed pomelo, playfully wearing the rinds on their heads as a wish for youth and good fortune in their families. In the Middle and Upper School, the Mandarin department marked the occasion with special foods, presentations, and lessons exploring the festival’s meaning. Middle Schoolers read Jing Ye Si (“Quiet Night Thought”) by Tang dynasty poet Li Bai and brought the poem to life through creative performances. Wishing everyone a joyful Mid-Autumn Festival!
