Polytechnic School Welcomes New Athletic Trainer

Polytechnic School’s Athletics department welcomes Assistant Athletic Trainer Angelina Hernandez. She will take the place of former Assistant Athletic Trainer Andrew Ocbo.

Andrew has been a beloved member of the Athletics community for the last seven years. He held numerous roles at Poly including boys soccer coach and Upper School co-teacher. Andrew leaves us to expand his professional horizons with in-home therapy. The Athletics family will miss him and wishes him good luck.

Angelina came on board as temporary staff at the beginning of October to help Athletics with fall training sessions. In her new role, she will be assisting Head Athletic Trainer Rob Mikels. She comes to Poly from Bonita High School in La Verne where she was their athletic trainer for five years. She received her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Point Loma Nazarene University and is a certified athletic trainer. She is eager to bring her learning and experience to Poly.

“I’m looking forward to becoming a part of this community. Already, I feel so welcome and it makes me really excited to be a new addition to Poly,” said Angelina.

Poly Athletics is thrilled to have her join the team.
