Polytechnic School’s Annual Rose Parade

Some years ago, in the spirit of continually exploring and refining its practices, Polytechnic School began a new tradition.

In its fifth iteration, the kindergarten class planned and presented its annual Rose Parade the Friday before winter break. This project-based learning experience is a highlight of the kindergarten year.

The Class of 2034 collaborated in small teams (Operations, Equestrian, Band, Floats, etc.) and prepared the event for weeks prior to the parade. In the past, parent volunteers assisted students with the design and construction of their projects, but this year, faculty and staff sprung into action.

The slideshow above includes both the preparation and the actual parade—a fabulous send-off to winter break!
