Polytechnic School’s Dance Team Welcomes New Coach

With the exit of long-standing coach, Tina Cocumelli, Polytechnic School welcomes Marianne Davis as its new Dance Team and Mascots head coach. Although new to the position, Davis is not new to Poly. She first came to Poly in the spring of 2019 as a Hixon Intern in the Theatre Arts Department. After her internship, she was brought on as Cocumelli’s assistant coach starting the summer of 2019. After two seasons under Cocumelli, Davis shows great promise. Cocumelli expressed her 100% confidence in Davis in moving the team forward in a positive way, commenting that “she is an incredibly talented, organized, caring woman and she is a tireless worker”. Davis is eager to work with the team as its head coach, looking “to strengthen technical skills and explore dancer-led choreography and community service opportunities.” Poly Athletics is excited to have her lead the team next year and is seeing where Davis takes the program.
