PUSD Announces Safe Reopening of All Schools and Programs on January 30
Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) has announced that all schools and programs will be open tomorrow, Thursday, January 30, for students and employees across the district.
Out of an abundance of caution, PUSD has partnered with Envirocheck, a certified environmental testing provider, to conduct tests assessing soot, ash, char, and pH levels in affected buildings.
While these extensive environmental test results have come in at different times throughout the day due to thorough cleaning efforts and the size of some campuses, “we anticipate all schools will reopen safely as scheduled tomorrow.” All schools have been cleaned thoroughly and tested. To date, we have not received any negative test results at any PUSD school.
If any unforeseen changes occur, PUSD will notify families and employees by 5:30 a.m. tomorrow morning with alternate site information. At this time, the district do not expect any schools to remain closed.
In the very unlikely event that a school’s test results have not been received, PUSD will offer an alternate location for children to come and reconnect with their teachers and school communities. Every student and employee will have a place to meet in community tomorrow. Our methodologies and procedures have allowed every PUSD school to open safely to date, and we anticipate this will remain true for tomorrow as well.
Please plan for your child to attend school as usual unless you hear otherwise by the specified time above. The list of schools with cleared test results can be found below.
