PUSD Names Rose City High School Principal

Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) Superintendent Jon R. Gundry announced today that he has named Jack Loos as principal of Rose City High School and promoted teacher Brian Stanley to assistant principal. Loos is currently the administrator of the district’s Center for Independent Studies (CIS) and his role will expand to managing both schools. Rose City and CIS offer alternative high school programs for 500 students.

“Jack brings nearly 20 years of experience in alternative education to the position and will manage both of the district’s alternative education programs to provide consistent, high quality and personalized instruction for students who have struggled in traditional classrooms,” said Gundry.

Loos joined PUSD as a teacher and football coach at Pasadena High School in 1993. He was previously a coach and teacher at Mount San Antonio College and Pasadena City College. He has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of LaVerne, a Master’s degree in cross cultural education from National University and a Master’s degree in child, marriage and family counseling from Phillips Graduate Institute.

Loos replaces former Rose City High School principal Eric Sahakian, who was named director of the district’s Child Welfare, Attendance and Safety department in August.
