PUSD: Skills for Community and Career

On Monday, March 2, PUSD joins schools around the world in celebrating International SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) Day, launching SEL Week (March 2–8). This year’s theme, “Skills for Community, Skills for Career,” highlights how empathy, self-regulation, and collaboration support both student success in school and their future pathways.

Across PUSD classrooms, students practice SEL every day through morning circles, collaborative projects, reflection activities, and lessons that help them manage emotions, solve problems, and build healthy relationships. Social-emotional learning strengthens academic growth, supports mental health, and helps students feel confident, connected, and ready for life beyond the classroom.
