PUSD’s African-American Parent Advisory Council (AAPC) Showcases Equity and Engagement at Black Education Expo

Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) proudly participated in the Black Education Expo held on October 12 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The event was an opportunity for PUSD to showcase its commitment to fostering equity and inclusion within its schools. PUSD’s African-American Parent Advisory Council (AAPC) led an insightful workshop focused on enhancing parent engagement and empowering families to become active participants in their children’s education. Additionally, representatives from PUSD’s College and Career Academies collaborated with the City of Pasadena to highlight educational and career pathways available to students. The semi-annual expo provides participants with a wealth of educational resources, interactive and informative workshops, and a vibrant celebration of historically marginalized communities, with the goal of uplifting and empowering Black students and families.
