Ramona Convent Commencement Honoring the Class of 2022

Ramona Convent Seniors were celebrated with a beautiful traditional ceremony. The cold gray day did little to dampen the spirits of our graduates, their families, and friends. There were several highlights of the event. Thanks to our facilities manager, Oliver Truong, and his colleagues, we were treated to live music with a beautiful string quartet.

Marisa Gomez ’22 was the Salutatorian representing her class and shared an important reflection with her class. “Ramona has prepared us for the challenge. Not only has it laid a strong academic foundation, but it has taught us how to become strong women…women of faith, goal-oriented individuals, tomorrow’s leaders, women with a conviction to succeed, to make the world a better place, peacemakers, role-models; a woman who is not afraid to stand up for her beliefs and values.”

We also welcomed back Michelle Del Rio ’99 as our guest speaker. She spoke of the importance of tenacity and resilience sharing “My path to becoming an attorney didn’t look like what I imagined. But I pivoted, persevered and stayed curious about the experience. I embraced the challenge and continued to move forward. So when things don’t go as expected or planned, remember your grit, curiosity and perseverance.” Michelle is an entertainment lawyer for Disney Entertainment.

After the girls received their diplomas, an impressive list of honors was read. At Ramona, the college prep and selection process is a four-year journey of exploration, self-discovery, hard work, and growth.
