Ramona Convent Student-Athlete Signs National Letter of Intent

Ramona Convent Secondary School is excited to congratulate student-athlete Laurencia Botts on signing her national letter of intent with the Cottey College volleyball program! Cottey College shared that “Laurencia has one of the most impressive resumes we have seen in recent years being involved in over 18 clubs and sports!” Laurencia shared this amazing accomplishment in an intimate signing ceremony with her family.

Laurencia also shares her athletics talents with the Ramona Tiger Swim and Basketball teams. She has served as captain for all three sports, won the Coach’s Award and First Team All-Horizon League in 2019. She has also received the Coach’s Award for Basketball as well as being recognized as a Scholar-Athlete with Distinction and a three-time Triathlete Award winner. Laurencia shared “playing sports at Ramona has helped me develop good communication and listening skills and has trained me to work well with my teammates. I’ve pushed myself to be not just a team leader but also the coachable athlete I can be.”

Off the court, Laurencia is incredibly dedicated to service in the community. She has worked as an SYEP Intern for Kaiser Permanente in the area of HR Disability Management & Consulting. She’s been using the “safer at home time” to create an entirely free educational resource for youth that focuses on environmental sustainability called EnviroGames and polished her entrepreneurial skills by running a beach jewelry business. She also works as a volunteer at St. Therese Carmelite School, her elementary school and her current parish.

Laurencia is looking forward to studying Biology at Cottey College and aspires to become a Pediatrician because she loves helping others and working with children.
