Ramona Earns Computer Science Award

The College Board has honored Ramona Convent Secondary School (RCSS) with the 2019 AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award. According to Principal, Mary Mansell, “As an all girls’ school, receiving this recognition is not a surprise. After all, women empower all of Ramona’s students to develop their skills in all areas.”

Of the 20,000 Advanced Placement programs in the US, Ramona is one of only 639 high schools recognized for closing the gender gap in computer science. According to a 2014 Google study, women are more likely to pursue computer science if they have the opportunity to study it during high school.
